Stacey Korson
Stacey Korson is beginning her fifth year in the Curriculum and Instruction, Language and Literacy doctoral program. Her research focuses on nonfiction literature in elementary classrooms, investigating teacher’s use and perception, as well as student response to different formats. Having successfully defended her preliminary exam in March (2015), she is currently knee-deep in dissertation data. She has been a teaching assistant for the past four years, teaching the 406/407 and 475/476 sequence, as well as serving as a student teaching supervisor. Stacey believes that one of the benefits of being a doctoral student at the University of Illinois are the relationships that are developed with the professors, as well as the value that the professors place on our views, thoughts, and suggestions in regards to the undergraduate courses.
